So, I have confession to make, I don't like wine. It's true. I also don't like beer, either, but that is neither here nor there.

But, and this is a big butt, I do like mulled wine.

Ed and I got a crock pot and a "Pizazz pizza oven" so you -know- what we did tonight. We broke in our crockpot by making like 1.5 liters of mulled wine (take an orange, stick 12 cloves in it, add 3/4 of a cup of brown sugar and two cinnanom sticks to 1.5 liters of red wine of your choice, let 'slow cook' for 2 hours and you get spicy wine delicious), making frozen pizzas and watching the Adventures of Pricilla Queen of the Desert.

Life is pretty -darn- good.

That is all.

(electronic version of Simply Having a Wonderful Christmas Time)

So, Happy boxing day!

I learned something this holiday.

I have really cool uncles, like if these guys were you know... 25 years younger, I'd totally hang out with them.

One of my uncles works for... I think the Public Health Department. He knows more about bugs and diseases (in terms of how vermin spread them) than like anyone I know. Just so you know, the honeybee is not going to die out (apparently they've been getting sick all across the globe. I'm imagining from ennui), and if they do, we'll have plenty of pollinators left. He's into tracker music (does that make -him- a tracker? I'm not sure), as in he composes it. It's different, but my uncle is different. My uncle has a life, I always thought he lived in Bethel Island with his cats... which he does, but he does other things, too (like go on TV and talk about rats). My uncle is cool... who the fuck knew?

My other uncle is... like something out an international spy movie. Only... he might be the bad guy. He makes like crazy money in Thailand, and pays... no taxes on it through a complicated scheme involving offshore accounts and such (-seriously-). He works for a German company selling industrial grade pumps. I know so much about pumps now, and how they are AWESOME. No, really. Pumps decaffeinate coffee, using water they CUT THROUGH STEEL, they clean roads (with water, at 2,800 atmospheres... that's a real number, too. We live at one atmosphere. And they don't screw up the roads at all, the rocks are untouched, just really really clean.), they also turn coal into diesel (which keeps China running. China apparently has been subsidizing their fuel for years, and can't afford to now, but they have a fuck load of coal, so everyone wins. Except maybe Taiwan). Okay I'll stop. Oh! No, one more thing left to tell. People need these pumps so bad in Asia, that my uncle, the Retailer, can tell them to go to hell if they want to bicker over price. There exists in the world retailers in POWER... just not booksellers. I'm in such awe of him. I'd hang out with him, but he's like light years too cool for me. It would be like trying to hang out with James Bond or something.

What I'm getting at is that, I'm an -adult- now, and my relatives have become real people to me. And some of them are awesome.

(yay!)

a pause for breath

The end of the semester is nigh, my friends. And I have two large projects that are in various forms of completion. I spent all of today reading and researching for one of them and then writing a paper for the other class. I'm doing alright with everything, I could be waaay more prepared than I am, but I'm definitely not slacking.

Which is why I decided at like seven pm tonight that I was done and Ed and I had a night on the town.

Not Sacramento, the town of which we are an unincorporated part, but Davis... a town that is half an hour away and much smaller. But no, totally good times. We walked around campus, then went to the underground arcade (the arcade is actually underground, it is not super secret or anything). After that we went to eat at 2K Thai, then I finally stepped into G Street pub, a place I had never been in during the time I -lived- in Davis. It was nice to get all dressed up (me in my skirtdress and he in a dress shirt and -jeans-) and go out for a little fun.

I had a really good night. The hell starts back up tomorrow.

Wow, it's been a little while since I've written here. I'm not sure what that's about.

We decorated the house for Christmas this year. And it made me really really happy. I have a -home-, ladies and gentlemen, a proper home. I've been spending my evenings working on Sterling's Christmas gift, and watching Ed try and get the last 16 stars in Mario Galaxy. I've been pretty darn happy these last few days.

Of course, that's all over now. While I've been in domestic bliss, I -haven't- been working on projects and such. So... I'm behind. Not -irreparably- so, but definitely going to feel the crunch. But, I can do it, I know it. And then I'll be freakin' halfway done with the program. Which is scary/exciting.

I miss Sterling. Like a sweetheart he actually -called- me Thursday. But then hasn't returned any of my calls for days now. One step forward two back... or something. I'd like to see him this weekend, I haven't seen him since he came over to play Atmosfear. And man, things have -happened- since then.

Well I think I shall go to bed soon, I have to go to my internship tomorrow, and sleep will help me do that without wanting to die.

PS I really hate Christmas music, and I totally blame my work for this

About Me
I really like to read, overanalyze things, and dance, maybe not in that order. Oh, I also believe in being intellectual and silly.
