| | Wow, today sort of sucked.
Alright for the last month-ish, I've been in the process of applying to work for the National Parks Service over the summer. I needed to fill out a form, submit a writing sample, get a letter of recommendation and send my transcripts. I filled out the form, had a writing sample all ready, picked up my letter today and sent off for my transcripts over a week ago. I was in good shape. And yet, my transcripts had not arrived. So I went down to sac state saying, hey what the hell? And apparently they had received my request last Friday, and had put a hold on it and HAD NOT TOLD ME. Apparently they've changed the nature of the hold they put on my transcripts (used to say "won't accept checks if has two bounced checks", was changed to say "won't accept checks if you bounce once"), so I could have cleared this up Monday (paid cash), but no, they didn't tell me. Now it's Thursday and I can clear up the hold, but it won't matter, it won't be sent in time.
ALL THE EFFORT I DID WAS WASTED.
Of course I had a little cry.
It's okay now, though. My letter of recommendation (which is glowing by the way) will hold until next year, and they hire new graduates anyway. So I can still do this, just not this summer.
Anyway, I had a decent rest of the evening, and now I'm going to bed, eventually.
