| | So, I just got in from dancin' with Sterling... and it was -awesome-. We skipped 815 L (was hosted by rap station tonight) and went to the Rage. I'm so glad we did. The Rage is turning into a different club Wednesday, tonight was the last night. And we were there. My people were there, too. The crazy Asian guy and the Michael Jackson guy and a south asian man I recognize from before (he tried to teach me how to jive, which was interesting, but holdin' me back, man!). I've given them names, Michael Paul and Andrew (no real reason for Andrew, but Paul because he looks sort of like Paul Parcon, and Michael should be obvious). They played some GREAT sets, two techno sets, and the second techno set had people actually dancing on the floor. They also played the favorites, all those club songs I know the chorus to (and all the hand motions implied). Yeah, Sterling and I cut a rug, got a little freaky (just a little) and communicated better on the floor (when there are other people that get annoyed when you crash into them you need to be more aware of your space than you are when you have the whole floor). They played Sandstorm, they played Ice Ice Baby (fun AND lame!), My Humps, they really just went crazy. We were on the floor most of the night. We stayed until the last dance, and the last two songs of the set (which started off pretty awfully) turned out great, so that was good. I'm so sweaty/nasty now, though. My brand new blouse and shoes have been supremely broken in. On the way home, I was able to play the comedown mix I made (just nice quiet songs that fit the mood). There was this moment, when we were on I-80 that was really rather special. We weren't talking, just listening to a song that has sentimental meaning for the two of us (different meanings, but still sentiment), on this stretch of beautiful farmland in the moonlight. It was a quiet sort of perfect of the kind you don't want to end.
Of course, it did. I got him home (and got some gas and some juice ...I was seriously dehydrated [nearly passed out in the grocery store]), and his presence was requested by Irene ( I think she had a long day at work), so I had to go home. Of course, I had to go home anyway, I have work in less than five hours.
And on that note.
Goodnight everyone.
