You know what is sweeter than a you have scheduled off? A day where you think you have to go in, but then you don't. Man, that was sweet, I was on call, I called in, Nate said "have a good evening!" I hung up. THEN like ten minutes later, my phone rang. Wisely I didnt' answer it, it was Laura asking me to come in. I had a brief mental struggle, then I decided that I wasn't home. So, since I wasn't home according to work, I decided to go out. Frank is at his parents house before leaving for Mexico I dropped him off this morning (I was hardly at my most charming... sorry Frank). I saw the fourth Harry Potter movie... and realized within ten minutes I had failed to see the third, but it was okay. You know, I know I'm supposed to be rooting for Harry... but I find myself liking Ron more and more... I like shaggy redheads, look at Frank! I was reminded of that episode of the Simpsons with Rowling, and Lisa asks what happens in the end as she says "he grows up and marries you. Is that what you wanted to hear?" and Lisa sighs and says "yes." That was the reaction of most of the crowd... okay like 80% of the crowd. Also the previews, frankly, scared me. Computer animated animal madness! Although the one with the dancing penguins who all happen to be Robin Williams... that looked cool. A one man computer animated penguin dancing extravaganza... could be a fun ten minutes... eighty might be pushing it.
ALSO this news is important... well to me it is. I've caved in, I've bought the first of the War of the Souls trilogy in Dragonlance. I'm sure you've got a blank look on your face, but this is a big step for me. For the longest time I wasn't able to leave my friends from the first generation behind, I loved them so (well, okay not all of them, Tanis can be such a whiny bitch). So I've never been able to move further than Dragons of Summer Flame (man, that was quite the epic, too. I -needed- nine years to get over that one), the end of the fourth age... but I bought the Second Generation short stories three months ago, in an attempt to bond with the new guys, and... while I think Palin is just as much of a whiny bitch as Tanis was ()
Okay, what the hell was I talking about? Oh right, I bought the book, and I'll get to reading it, I think I may be able to like new characters (I hope there's a kender!). I hope it is awesome, awesome like the other six that are worth mentioning (the chronicles and the legends) and Lord Toede, which is just awesome in it's own unique way (I've read it at least forty times, still find it funny).
Yeah alright, enough Geek for the time being.
PS this year is the first I get to participate in Black Friday, I know I should be all dreading it, but I am strangely a bit excited.
