I'm back....baby
| Mother of GOD.
So, I was supposed to return yesterday but due to a medical emergency my flight was delayed INDEFINITLY. And then, they gave me another flight, with no time to catch it, so I waited in line to recheck my goddamn bags, only to be told I already missed the CONNECTING flight, so I could get the next flight to Dallas and stay the night there and catch the first flight to Sacramento in the morning. And then I was selected to searched and all my stuff opened.
I sort of lost it.
I ended up staying another night with Ed, which was really nice. But then after VERY little sleep I had to get up at seven to take a cab, to wait for the plane, to connect to Chicago, to wait for the other plane which stopped at Kansas City (yo, Pam, I saw the airport, thought of you) for forty minutes to connect to a three and a half hour flight to Sacramento. Oh, did I mention that my luggage spent the night in Dallas without me? It did. Also I got selected for being searched again today, I must look terroristy.
I have work at seven am tomorrow, which is LAME.
But enough of the aggrivations, let me tell you about the actual trip! Friday night, didn't do much, just hung out. His lady friend Jess drives like a maniac... a happy maniac, and we made it home alive, so that's good.
I really like the house he lives in, I would probably go NUTS with only one room to call my own (there isn't a front/family/livingroom), and one bathroom for...four (five?) men is INSANE, but it's really cute. They have a porch! I want one!
Also, New Rochelle reminds me a lot of Berkeley (the same housing style, lots of trees a really compact downtown). We fed ducks one evening, and it was actually really really pretty. The humidity makes a mist (not just fog) which was nice... the ducks that started attacking me were not so nice.
New York City... is a city. I did not have a movie montage moment, and that was saddening, but we sort of bummed around Times Square (which ISN'T A SQUARE) for a few hours. And that was fun (it tends to be what I do in cities anyway, bum around for a while).
And that night (this is Saturday night) he took me out to Indian food, and it was fantastic. We took a -cab- so that I could wear my cute shoes. And then we came back and got drunk and watched movies. And the next day I recovered, and we watched movies (and went feed ducks, for those who like chronology).
And then Monday it all went to hell, until Ed picked me up and we had another evening out (well a block walk to the diner) and it was MUCH better. I suck at videogames... but he sucks at cards, so yay!
Then I woke up at seven am to travel home.
This totally made my summer.
