Man, I had the day off today, a sort of boon. I say sort of because my shift got cancelled, so it was a boon (I got to sleep, quite a bit, actually) but sort of because I didn't get the money. I went dancing tonight with Sterling at Empire. We went to Kathmandu first, which was pretty awesome. I talked about my worries about him leaving, and that… brought the niceness to a screeching halt, but after we discussed it, and things got all heavy, I asked him if he wanted me to lighten the mood, and I did, remarkably quickly, like in one anecdote, which might be a record. Empire was –packed- there was some sort of party goin' down. They play –really- good music, which is good because they are fuckin'-expensive-, but hey whatever. They played "Let's Stay Together” and a pretty awesome beat under “Milkshake” the new song by that boy Sean Combs (with lyrics to a techno song I really like), no it was awesome. I got a gin and tonic, but it was mostly tonic. We went to this side bar and got rum and cokes, made with –half- rum (Bacardi, versus you know, xxRumxx rum) for $5 (six with tip), which is pretty damn cool. It was so packed we ended up dancing on each other to avoid being elbowed in the head (ah, the pleasures of being short), and by the end of the night were dancing on ice and broken glass, which isn't as treacherous as it sounds (kind of slippery, meaning you get to make some really awesome slidey moves).
So yeah, pretty awesome night. Now I'm going to take a bath, then bed!
