| I've been up for 21 hours at this point.
I feel I should be upfront with that information.
SO, here's what I did today. I woke up at seven am, finished out my paper for my Memory class, and you know what? It really didn't suck at all. It might even have been good, not very original, but good. I turned it in at a little after five pm (worked on it until four pm, to bring it from 6 mediocre pages to 12 finished pages, that's a lot of writing for me or any human being). Then I whipped around, fought rush hour traffic and went to Mexican food with Ed.
After -that-, my second day started. I worked inventory tonight. There are two days of the year that I love my work, even though the hours suck out loud. One is the Christmas meeting and the other is Inventory. These are times when most of us are together, and we're all very sleepy (the Christmas meeting starts at six am the second Sunday in November). I don't know what it is, even though many of us (the evening shifters) work until midnight all the time, and are generally up at two am, having to -work- at two am makes us all nuts. We were prone to dancing and singing by the end (not on the same rhythm and not to the same song). Also we laugh over anything, and everything. Also we are incapable of communicating with each other, even when we're not singing, dancing, or laughing. By the end of the night our store manager would shout "Nenad [or whomever] come here!" and far away in the store you'd hear "No!" It was kind of like we were all drunk, without the booze (by three we were sitting on the ground comparing scabs and talking about funny sounding words... I'm not making that up). Inventory was relatively painless, though. I should mention that I am either sick at this point or suffering from the worst case of allergies perhaps ever. I bought a box of kleenex before work, and have managed to work through a good portion of it (and I lost it for half my shift), and this is ON medication.
Anyway, that's over with now. I'm going to take a bath, then sleep until noon, then write paper number two (the one I haven't started that needs to be done by 7 am tomorrow.
Joy!
